You guys know how much I love, love, loooooove Villainous Grounds in Perryville, MO. (If you don’t know, I recommend finding out here and here.) I recently heard they were going to have comic artist Rick Burchett in the shop for a signing, and I’ve been meaning to make a trip down for a few weeks, so I rearranged my plans for May 13th and made the hour drive.
The first thing I did upon arrival was head upstairs to the comics. I absolutely adore this shop. It’s all so well organized and stocked. The atmosphere is great, and everyone is friendly. My money was a little tight this trip, but I picked up Batman #19, which I’d somehow missed, and then some Harley Quinn variants by Frank Cho (THESE COVERS ARE SO GOOD!), along with a Lee Bermejo Suicide Squad variant.
Then, I went downstairs for the main purpose in the trip: Rick Burchett. I bought two books for him to sign (one for me, one for my friend Robin from The Bat Force. Hi, Robin!), as well as a few books I brought from home for him to sign.
The various variant covers for Harley, the Suicide Squad variant, and Batman 19. All of these will be individually posted on my instagram ( @angelyoung13 )
The two books that look alike are the ones I bought in the shop, and the rest were brought from home.
Over all, the day was a success. I had a good time stopping by Villainous Grounds, and Rick Burchett is always super friendly. Plus, it’s always a good day when I can successfully add goodies to my collection!
What did you guys do this weekend? Any cons, new shops, signings, etc? Tell me about it in the comments!
