Do you ever have one of those days that you just kinda want to keep to yourself, recharge, and watch a bunch of movies? I totally needed one of those days recently. So, a few days ago, I rented a bunch of movies, had some nachos, and enjoyed my time in my pajamas watching movies.
Here’s what I rented:
My favorite of the four was easily The Shape of Water. It was obviously a little bit different than the rest, haha. But such an excellent movie.
My second favorite was Jigsaw. I love the Saw series, and I was pretty excited to see another was coming out. And this one definitely took me back to some aspects that made me love the movies to begin with.
Happy Death Day was a pleasant surprise for me. Was it the best thing ever? Not really. However, it was a lot of fun and very enjoyable. And considering I didn’t think I’d like it, that says a lot.
My least favorite of the day: Mother. Now, this wasn’t horrible. But there were definitely many hits and misses in this movie for me, personally. I debated with myself whether or not I liked it – which should have been enough of an answer for me.

I have heard from a lot of people that mother didn’t live up to their expectations. But I will check out the shape of water!

I get what you mean about Mother – I had the same conversation with myself after watching it. I then came to the conclusion that while it is shot very well and there are moments that hold your attention, overall its just not something that I’d ever want to see again or recommend to anyone else. Shape of Water and Happy Death Day are great. I’ve yet to see Jigsaw.

Yeah, I couldn’t sit through it again. I read up on it (after watching) and just thought ‘yeah… I didn’t get any of that from watching this movie.’

I did the exact same thing. It had potential, but the negatives really outweighed the good things about it.

Yes. Like, every day. Lol.
On a serious note: I’ve only seen The Shape of Water. Nothing really new with the (love) story, but the execution was simply wow.
Looking forward to seeing Jigsaw.
