Snowy Weekend Entertainment

The last two weekends, I’ve wanted to do some mini trips to comic shops, etc. And, the last two weekends, the weather has decided to snow a ton and keep me cooped up in the house.

So, to keep myself entertained, I’ve been doing a lot of reading, and some Multiverse stuff in Injustice 2.

What I’ve been reading:

  • Aquaman: War for the Throne. I actually just picked this up Thursday night from Walmart, because I’ve had interest in reading some Aquaman (as previously mentioned), heard great things about Geoff Johns Aquaman, and could gather – based on the movie poster cover – this would be a good starting point for an Aquaman novice, such as myself. It was great! And I had the right idea, picking that particular place to start, because a lot was similar to the movie, giving me a solid footing so I could enjoy the story without worrying about being too lost. If you’re interested in getting into Aquaman as well, I definitely reccomend.
  • Blackest Night. I’ve had this a while. And read chunks/known the basic storyline for a while. But for some reason, I’ve never sat down and powered through the entire thing. And woooow, was I missing out! My brother is a huge Green Lantern fan, and Hal is his favorite. I’ve always had a small interest but never devoted much time to reading about any of the lanterns. As with Aquaman, I hear great things about Geoff Johns and his work on Green Lantern. This was a pretty exciting read, and definitely another good starting point for people like myself.
  • DC Comics/Dark Horse Crossovers: Justice League vol 1. I’m not finished with this, yet. My main focus was always the Batman/Hellboy stuff. But I’m intending to sit and read the whole thing, this time. I may post a review, later.

And then, of course, there’s been a lot of character stuff unlocking, leveling up, and Multiverse events in Injustice 2.

Including the amazingness which is my Bruce Wayne skin for Batman, that makes me giggle every time.

Anyone else get a snowy weekend? How do you keep yourself entertained? And have you read any of the books I’ve been reading, or play Injustice 2? Let me know in the comments!
