In the near future, space travel is ludicrously expensive and largely ignored. Enter Christine Ocampo, inventor of the Star Shot teleportation device with a big idea: She’ll travel to new worlds, engage-intimately-with local aliens, and film her exploits for a jaded earth populace trying to find something new on the internet. Now, Chris and her merry band of scientist-cum-pornstars explore the universe, each other, and the complexities of sex in MONEY SHOT!

A story about scientists having sex with aliens for the glory of mankind-and money.

I love Vault Comics. The more I read from them, the more I love. But, from the start, I was hesitant about Money Shot. I’m not the most, uh, erotic entertainment inclined person. Movies, shows, books, etc. I’m just not really drawn to themes like that. Not that there’s anything wrong with it – by all means, you do you. Just for myself, personal preference wise: not typically my thing.

But, in my inbox was the opportunity to read Money Shot: Volume One, the trade paperback collecting the first 5 issues of Money Shot, which releases this week in stores. I decided to give it a shot (heh), and see if I liked it. What’s the worst that could happen?

Well, I’ll tell you.

I read the whole thing super fast and now I love it.

My friends, I was a fool to wait so long to read this.

Obviously, Money Shot is a book for mature audiences, considering the heavily sexual themes and nudity. But man, it is a fun book, and way more than just erotic space encounters.

There is a ton of heart in this series, as well as some fantastic, and sometimes bizarre, comedy. This funky scientist-turned-porn-star erotic space adventure is a blast, well written, and easy for someone like myself to get into, despite my initial worries it wouldn’t be for me.

The art is drawn beautifully and the colors are gorgeous. Things like this could take a turn into being too much super fast, but it’s all honestly really well done. And the letterer does a phenomenal job with handling all the language translation and setting things up so our brains take cues to understand what’s going on without taking us from the story.

If this sounds remotely interesting to you, then definitely grab a copy of Money Shot volume one this Wednesday from your local shops, or order it to come to you if you’re stuck at home. Lighten the doom and gloom of the world with some fun alien sex.

Let me know if you do check it out!

  1. OMG thank you so much for saying which issues where included in Vol. 1! Your page has been the *only one* that has had that information. It’s not on Amazon or anywhere else I could find. I’ve been googling for the last 1/2 hour. Is there an easy way to get this information?

Thanks again! I just bought volume 1!
