Review: Hotell #4

You won’t find it on any map, but if you happen to be driving down Route 66 late at night and you’re truly desperate for shelter, sanctuary or secrecy, you might see a battered sign on the side of the road: The Pierrot Courts Hotel. – where many check in but few check out.

It breaks my heart to know this is issue #4 of 4 for Hotell, because it has been such an absolute pleasure to read. Demented, haunting, and brilliant, all wrapped up together. Hopefully, we’ll see more in the future, because I will certainly miss Pierrot Court.

Like watching any good anthology horror movie, Hotell ties up all the stories so nicely in the end, fitting all the pieces and characters and events together with a satisfying conclusion. Everything is so creatively done, you can never guess what will happen next, and that makes every issue fresh and exciting.

As usual, the art within the book is beautiful and haunting, and one particular panel was so genuinely creepy, I immediately regretted my decision to read Hotell #4 at 1am. Thanks for the nightmares haha.

If you missed out on Hotell, catch up on all four issues. You won’t regret it.
