Review: Once & Future #10

Writer: Kieron Gillen

Artist: Dan Mora

Colors: Tamra Bonvillain

Letters: Ed Dukeshire

Revenge is the greatest motivator and Gran and Duncan have awakened the ire of the mother of all monsters…

Once & Future from Boom! Studios is one of my absolute favorites right now. This issue in particular had me on the edge of my seat, with so much action and terror from start to finish, my pulse is still pounding.

Kieron Gillen has crafted a hero story that rises above so many others, weaving together mythology, literature, and history to give us something familiar in a new and exciting way. On top of that, we have characters that are so well developed, readers – like myself – get so emotionally invested because we adore these characters.

Dan Mora has some of the finest art on the shelves right now. When combined with the colors Tamra Bonvillain does – it transcends into some of the best pages in comics of all time. Plus, one of my top favorite letterers, Ed Dukeshire, is working on this series, continuing to add to the quality of this series.

If you haven’t been reading Once & Future from Boom! Studios, get caught up now! Honestly, this is in my top favorite ongoing books right now, and I cannot praise it enough.
