Cecily Bain takes fledgling vampire Ali on a twisted tour of the night life of the Twin Cities. But those lessons can’t prepare her for the assignment she has to complete by dawn: her first feeding!
I hope everyone grabbed the first issue, because you’re not going to want to miss the second one!
In issue two, we take a step further into the characters, the lore, and the world around them. We learn the costs of hunting and who they have to hunt, as well as those who hunt the kindred. It’s so intriguing, and I couldn’t stop reading once I started. Of all the characters, though, I think I’m most partial to Cecily Bain. She feels like someone grounded and connected to.her humanity, while still recognizing her curse and what she must do because of it.
The art is beautiful. Each story within the issue is illustrated and colored perfectly, giving us glimpses of beautiful creatures, as well as monsters. Horrors and a grimey reality of the city. And the letters, as expected from Andworld Design, are great as usual.
Grab issue one if you haven’t already, and be sure to get issue two, because you won’t want to miss this one.
