Grim Ketsuko and bumbling Fubei have agreed to lead the arrogant ronin through the woods and over the mountain. But death walks freely in the night, as the dishonored samurai are stalked by shadows of the Black Tongue ninja–and a devil who walks among them.

As I mentioned in my review of issue one, I’ve had a love for feudal Japan and Japanese culture/history since I was pretty young. And the Devil’s Red Bride is such an indulgence for me when I read it. I love Ketsuko – her story, her strength, her drive. I love watching this story unfold on each page. It’s exceptionally well written and beautiful. The lettering is fantastic as well.

The art is really beautiful. I love the fight scenes especially, and the splashes of red blood and Ketsuko’s mask, both so striking on the pages. It’s just stunning to look at.
