A drunken bender lands Kat in front of a wise and handsome tattoo removal specialist, yet she’s drawn back to eerie Comfort Notch, where a trove of old photos reveal the figure behind the town’s ominous legends.
The third issue in the series that has ruined the fall for me and made leaves cause anxiety is back, and taking the horror within the pages to the next level.
Daniel Kraus has a gift for writing horror. I appreciate the subtle, creeping feeling that’s been building with each issue, and now there’s a massive payoff approaching, and the tension building is palpable.
Chris Shehan is absolutely KILLING it with the art. The scenery is beautiful. The characters are all well done. The horrific imagery is haunting. Combine that with Jason Wordie’s gorgeous, rich colors, you get another incredible art team from Vault. Jim Campbell does even more phenomenal work on the lettering, as usual.
Grab issue three of The Autumnal on 11/25/20. And remember to rake the leaves in your yard, please.
