Review: Something is Killing the Children #16

Writer: James Tynion IV
Artist: Werther Dell’Edera
Colors: Miquel Muerto
Letters: Andworld Design
Publisher: BOOM! Studios

The story you demanded begins here: the origin of Erica Slaughter! What shocking events brought Erica to the House of Slaughter… and what did she have to do to join the Order of St. George? The secrets are revealed here for the first time in this perfect jumping-on point for new readers.”

Sometimes, I get swamped with things and forget something is in my inbox to review until a few weeks later and… well, better late than never, right?

As the description promised: we get to see little Erica, how she came to be inducted into the House of Slaughter, and what it means to be a stray in their halls. It’s an excellent issue, and I can’t wait to see the next part.

The art is, as it always is – beautiful. The unique art style of Werther Dell’Edera is some of my absolute favorite, currently. The distinct look, paired with the stunning colors by Miquel Muerto, makes the art vibrant and striking. The lettering is great as always.

Keep an eye out for the review of #17 this month!
