Review: Eve #3

Writer: Victor LaValle
Artist: Jo Mi-Gyeong
Colorist: Brittany Peer
Letterer: Andworld Design

Who can you trust when you’ve always been alone? Eve finally reaches dry land, but soon discovers she has company. When she encounters a mysterious group of children, she will have to grapple with the fact that not everything Wexler has told her is true. And if that’s the case, what else about her reality is a lie?
EVE #3 features main cover art by artist Ario Anindito (Star Wars: The High Republic) with colors by Pierluigi Casolino, and variant covers by famed illustrator Dani Pendergast (NPR) and acclaimed artist Jahnoy Lindsay (Luke Cage).”

This issue is my favorite so far. It’s dark. Somehow darker than everything so far. Darker than I was ready for. Horror seeped into it like a poison gunning straight for Eve, and it honestly left me anxious. But it was so, so good. Evoking that much emotion with something so well crafted was absolutely perfect.

The visuals for this issue were insanely good. Touching back on the horrifying aspects of this issues, but without saying exactly WHAT it is – it absolutely sold what was happening. It left you unnerved. The art and colors were incredible. The lettering was fantastic.

I cannot recommend this issue enough! Grab issue #3 of Eve this week!
