This was my most anticipated house this year, and still ranked pretty high for me afterwards, but I was delighted that for our three house Unmasking the Horror Tour, we had Halloween as one of the three houses we would get to see with the lights on and enjoy all the extra details that we may have missed as we ran through during the event.
In case you didn’t know, Unmasking the Horror Tour is a reservation you can make for either a 3 or 6 house tour during the day, where you can take a guided tour behind the scenes to see some houses without any rush or scare actors present. This is one of my favorite things to do in the fall at Universal, because I’m a nerd that loves haunted house details.
I’ve actually gotten to take a tour of the Halloween house before at Horror Nights 24, and I loved it. I was more than happy to tour the new version this year and see what changed.

One detail I loved was on Judith Myers vanity, a framed photo of Debra Hill. It was a nice nod to her and her contributions to the film.

For the recreation scene (and addition of Loomis!) of Michael’s escape at the beginning, they had the exact model car brought in and wrapped in vinyl to match the movie car.

Seeing the house is always fun. Especially with special guests.

Lonnie’s bike was a nice detail we wouldn’t have noticed otherwise.

All in all, it was a blast, and a great way to kick off the tour.

Stay tuned for the other two houses on our tour: Spirits of the Coven and Fiesta de Chupacabras!
