“Selina Kyle is fiercer than she knows. For 15 years, she’s put up with her mother’s string of bad boyfriends, but when Dernell, her mom’s current beau, proves crueler than the others, Selina reevaluates her place in her home. There’s no way Selina and Dernell can live under the same roof, and since Dernell won’t leave, Selina must.
From New York Times bestselling author Lauren Myracle ( ttyl) and artist Isaac Goodhart comes a story about learning how to survive the world when you’ve been forced to abandon your home and finding allies in the most unexpected moments.”
It’s New Comic Book Day! My two big reads for this week were The Batman Who Laughs 4 and Batman 68.
The last two weekends, I’ve wanted to do some mini trips to comic shops, etc. And, the last two weekends, the weather has decided to snow a ton and keep me cooped up in the house.
I’m a little behind, but there was A LOT to get pics of, for this haul. So, bear with me on this nerdy journey.
I’m a sucker for Batman everything. Two Batman stockings and a Batcave gingerbread kit from Walmart.
Batman Day jams for the drive.
Batman Day was last Saturday, and I made my trip to Barnes and Noble for Batman Day fun.
Another year, another Free Comic Book Day. And it was busy busy busy. This year we took my nieces on a big adventure to three shops – Villainous Grounds, All the Rage, and my local shop – Not Just Comix.
I will state before going into this, that it is important to remember that even though it is Free Comic Book Day, these comics are not free to shops, and it’s important you buy something as well as pick up your free comics. I didn’t have the most money on this trip due to Fan Expo crunch time, but I still made sure to buy something at all three shops – as did my mother, my brother, and the girls. Please support local shops and keep them in business.
First up: Villainous Grounds
So, I decided to take the day off Friday and get some things done, so I’d still have down time Saturday and Sunday. Everybody needs a break sometimes, right?
