I cover a lot of cons, theme parks, events, etc. on this blog, but at the heart and soul of it all, Wandering NerdGirl is devoted to my passion for finding nerdy travel destinations. Ladies and gents, let me present to you one of those places – Who North America.

Who North America is one of those fantastic stories of a fan’s love developing into something incredible. Keith Bradbury started Who North America back in 1998, when Doctor Who merchandise was pretty limited in the U.S., and quickly grew into one of the largest sources to buy Doctor Who products in North America. In 2016, Who North America opened up a store people could visit. And to make it even more incredible to visit – half the store is a Doctor Who merchandise museum.

Yeah. The moment I read about it, I knew I had to go.

Wizard World St Louis 2018

Before I say anything, I will immediately give Wizard World STL credit for one thing:

This was definitely an improvement on several of my disappointments from last year, specifically:

  • The celebrity guests were better organized, like they used to be, and not in some weird maze of tables in the middle of the room.
  • There were considerably more vendors – of comics, as well as a variety of others. This was a pretty big deal to me, last year. I was on a mission to buy comics, and only had a handful of vendors to choose from.

So, bravo for that, WW! Thank you for making that aspect more enjoyable.

Travel Plans: London Calling

LondonCalling

I’ve wanted to go to England for what feels like forever now. In particular, I’ve had my little heart set on London, and all it’s wonder. There have been several times I’ve said “Okay, that’s it, I’m going next year” – and then I didn’t, for whatever reason.

But I’ve decided there will be no more of that. No more putting it off. I’m going to make serious plans now, even if I have to go alone.
