Halloween Horror Nights blessed us on Halloween with an incredibly early first house announcement for HHN 32:
Unmasking the Horror: Halloween
This was my most anticipated house this year, and still ranked pretty high for me afterwards, but I was delighted that for our three house Unmasking the Horror Tour, we had Halloween as one of the three houses we would get to see with the lights on and enjoy all the extra details that we may have missed as we ran through during the event.Continue reading
Halloween Horror Nights 30 – First House Announced!
It has been a long time – entirely too long – since I’ve gotten to spend time at my beloved Universal Orlando. And, with that, a long time since I’ve gotten to attend my favorite Halloween event – Halloween Horror Nights.
Understandably, last year, everyone missed out, because of the pandemic. But HHN 30 looks like it may be happening – and with that, the first house announcement is here!Continue reading
A Curious Decade
Let’s take a stroll down memory lane, and reflect on some of the most notable moments from the last decade:
Meeting Kevin Smith:
You can read the entire thing here, but without a doubt, Kevin Smith is one of the most significant things to happen to me in my entire life.

From Halloween Horror Nights:

2019: Goals and Plans
We’re heading into a new year, and with it, I’m steadily working on plans to make it a great year for Wandering NerdGirl. This is a rough idea of how I aim to approach next year, and there is always room to add or remove things.
HallowCon Missouri 2018
This year, we had something a little different in the area – HallowCon Missouri. I was pretty surprised to see someone putting together a horror con fairly close to home. So, of course, I was up for checking it out.
The Vampire Graveyard
We all have local urban legends: haunted cemeteries, unsolved murders, roads with mysterious, ghostly hitchhikers. One of the more prominent ones we have around here in small town Missouri is the legend of the Elvins Vampire.
And I decided to hunt for his grave.
Favorite Halloween Movies
While I love horror and spooky goodness all year long, there’s a handful that I enjoy watching close to Halloween time to bask in all their delicious glory. While I may watch plenty of other horror and Halloween-y movies around this time of year, this list is my top favorites, in no particular order:
HHN 28 Announcements So Far
It was heartbreaking for me to not attend Halloween Horror Nights 27 last year- this is my favorite Halloween event and it definitely didn’t feel like Halloween without it. And while it’s still up in the air whether or not I’ll get to attend this year, I am super excited about the first three house announcements so far.
