We started our day with food on the way to Six Flags for their celebration of 80 years of Batman. We stopped at a diner we love in Crystal City, MO called Gordon’s Stoplight Drive-in.
Then we made our way to Six Flags.
You can see our full adventure in my video.
After Hellboy Day, we decided to head to Six Flags this weekend for opening day.
We rode our favorite, Justice League: Battle for Metropolis, checked out the merchandise out so far, and looked for any updates to the Supergirl ride opening this year.
The day after HallowCon, we took my nieces to Six Flags St. Louis for Fright Fest. Lillie turned 9 earlier in the week, and her request was to go through her first haunted house. And, being the spooky queen that I am, I was set on making that happen, and agreed to be the adult that would take her.
My family and I all have season passes to Six Flags St Louis this year, so we’re planning to take a few trips up over the next few months. Our first trip of the season was with my nieces on Monday (Memorial Day) and it was a blast. Obviously, though, one of the biggest things that draws me to Six Flags is the DC Comics themed rides and areas, including the heavy theme of Batman everywhere. And, of course, all the cool stuff I can add to my collection!
Have you never been to Six Flags? Well, here’s a treat for you all then! The Adventures of a Batman Fan in a day at Six Flags St Louis:
First up for me will probably always be the new Justice League: Battle for Metropolis 4D ride. I love love love this ride. It’s something family friendly and still a ton of fun. I love the feeling of walking into the Hall of Justice. I love that the ride really reminds me of my beloved Universal Studios. And I obviously LOVE that Batman is in it (duh.)
There were a lot of ups and downs to 2015. Being unemployed for a few months really ruined some travel plans or me. But there were definitely a lot of great moments over all! I’d like to look back on some of my favorite things of the past year:
Star Wars Weekend 2015 at Walt Disney World:
While I fully plan to do an actual full post on the insane coolness which was this event, I do need to spoil it some now. In May last year, we took my nieces for their first ever trip to Disney World and Universal, and strategically planned it so the girls could go for Star Wars Weekends. Well, long story short, my nieces were picked to be in the opening parade, in which they’d be dressed as Jedi Padawans and given lightsabers and some quick training from the Jedi Academy, before leading the celebrity guests in that were riding in the parade. And they needed two adults to walk the parade with the girls… I WALKED IN THE STAR WARS PARADE WITH EMPEROR PALPATINE!
A general idea of what I have planned in 2016 – subject to change, of course:
+ Marvel Universe Live!
+ More Fox Theater, St Louis Science Center, and Six Flags
+ Wizard World: St Louis
+ Wizard World: Chicago
+ Disney World
+ Universal Studios Orlando
+ Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
+ Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights
Now, I’m sure I’ll add and subtract as the year goes on, because health and such takes first priority over travel. I hope to bring you some fresh, new posts about additions to Disney and Universal, cool events and tours, stuff to do in St Louis, and more. I hope you enjoy taking the journey with me!

I love collecting things. My main, and largest, collection is my Batman collection. I literally have SO MUCH Batman stuff, that I have 90% of it stored in boxes because I can’t keep it all on display at the moment, at least not until I have more space. But I collect more than just Batman stuff. I collect horror and Marvel things, Nightmare Before Christmas, Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Star Wars (love me some Stormtroopers), etc. I’ve really gotten into Pop! Vinyl figures from shows and movies and games that I love. Which reminds me – I also have a huge book and movie collection. Basically – if I love it, there’s a chance I collect it.
This love of collecting, especially my Batman addiction, isn’t limited to just what I can find locally or order online. More than once I’ve bought things for my collection while on a trip for a completely different reason.
I have been very, VERY eager to go to Six Flags St Louis this year, one reason being my undying love of Batman and my desire to collect ALL THE THINGS – and Six Flags does, in fact, have quite a bit of cool Batman merchandise. But the other reason I specifically have been dying to go, is for the new ride Justice League: Battle for Metropolis, where you are recruited to help save the Justice League from Lex Luthor and the Joker. So, I took my nieces up last Saturday for a bit of collecting and fun: including riding this bad boy.
