Sam spirals deeper into darkness while the Blue Flame chooses to finally face the tragedy of his life on Earth. It remains to be seen if either of them will ever recover, and if they can still be heroes. As they grapple with their identities, Sam searches his soul and seeks relief in the arms of someone who may in fact be an adversary, while the Flame finds an ally in someone he thought was working against him.

Nominate this series for awards. Make it a classic that everyone shares with their comic book loving friends and recommends in shops. The Blue Flame is easily one of the best books of 2021, with a gripping story that makes us look at ourselves as humans. It’s exceptionally well written and emotionally impactful.

The art is truly something beautiful to look at. The human elements grounded in reality. The otherworldly, superhero moments are breathtaking. The colors are stunning. The lettering is fantastic.
