Review: No One’s Rose

“Centuries after the fall of the Anthropocene, the last vestiges of human civilization are housed in a massive domed city powered by renewable energy, known as The Green Zone. Inside lives teenager Tenn Gavrilo, a brilliant bio-engineer who could rebuild the planet. But there’s one problem: her resentful brother Seren is eager to dismantle the precarious Utopia.
From the minds of Zac Thompson (X-Men, Yondu) and debut writer Emily Horn with artist Alberto Jimenez Alburquerque (Letter 44, Avengers ) comes a gorgeous and green solar-punk world filled with strange biotechnology, harsh superstorms, and divisive ideologies-ideologies that will tear Tenn and Seren down to their roots as they fight for a better Earth.”

No One’s Rose is a new series coming from Vault Comics March 25th, 2020.

“We wanted to build a sci-fi story that was full of light. This is a rejection of the doom and gloom that comes with cyberpunk. This is a story about hope and the future of humanity. This is Solar Punk.”
Zac Thompson & Emily Horn

There should be no surprise that this was an excellent read, since it’s from Vault Comics, and I’ve yet to read anything they’ve put out that I do not like. The story is a well written fresh take on a dystopian vision of the future, full of hope for repairing a world ruined by mankind.

The art is wonderful, and I’m in love with the design for Tenn. I can see her becoming a fun cosplay for fans in the future, because not only is she an aesthetically appealing character, she is also super smart, goal oriented, and all around likeable. She has depth, and I dig her a lot.

There’s a lot covered in this first issue, and I’m excited to see where these characters are headed. Congrats to the entire team on an excellent first issue!

If you haven’t already put this on your pull list, then you’ll need to make sure you grab a copy when it hits the shelves in two weeks. No One’s Rose is going to be another well loved series from Vault comics.
