Barely surviving the onslaught of the dread ninja, the battered party of Ronin take refuge in an old mountain temple. As Ketsuko learns more about Fubei’s past, she ponders her own bloody choices. But the temple is not as abandoned as it seemed, and Ketsuko is not the only one who struck a deal with a devil…

I’m so in love with this beautiful, dark story. There’s so many elements that really draw me in: something familiar because of my interests in Feudal Japan, something intriguing about the story and the use of bargaining with the devil, something incredible about the horrors of it all.

I still cannot get over how much I love the art. The designs of the characters, the mask, the scenery – just everything. Plus how incredibly done the colors are – the muted tones with bursts of red for blood, for the devil mask, etc. It’s all so good. And the lettering is excellent as well.

Grab issue #3 and let me know what you think!
